I think I flunked Seed Starting 101

I planted a lot of seeds in little seed starters pots I made from toilet paper rolls. I’ve kept them in the window and watered them for several weeks now but they aren’t sprouting. The only thing I can think is that it was too cold for them on the very few nights we’ve had where temps have dropped into the 30s.

I’m so disappointed and I feel so silly. I’m not sure how much longer I should try with these, or if I should at all. I was debating on going outside when it warms up and digging a few shallow holes, popping the failed seed pots in, and see if they do anything there.

Thankfully I didn’t use all my seeds in this failed experiment so I can still plant the remaining ones directly into the ground outside once it warms up permanently. This weather is weird though. Some days are in the 70s and then a few days later, evening temps will drop to 30 or a little under. I just wish Mother Nature would make up her mind so I could quit killing my plants.
