Once upon a time I was the proud owner of a Duracraft VH600 Victorian. I’d rescued it from Craigslist and planned to fix it up into a magical house, the type a Hogwarts graduate would be happy to live in. I made a little blog, theolddollhouse.com to keep up with the progress.
Sadly, it was not meant to be. We had a sudden whirlwind move 600 miles back home to a tiny apartment and my great big monster of a house just didn’t have anywhere to live. We just weren’t going to have room for it.
I gave it to a neighbor before we moved who had expressed interest in it. I really hope they are taking care of it.
I’m explaining all this because with the move and the rehomed dollhouse, my blog got deleted. It is my fault for ignoring the domain expiration notice emails. I was so sad about leaving my house behind though and without it, I didn’t need the blog.
Oh, I also had a baby.
So that has kept me from minis too. 🙂
I refer to him on my blog as O for privacy reasons. He was born August 5th, 2013.
Back to minis: recently I found a little house kit on e-bay for only $30. It is “The Heather” by Real Good Toys and Houseworks. From the measurements it looks small enough to fit on a small table in our bedroom but big enough to still be fun to work on. I still have tons of furniture, accessories, and doors and windows and things so I snapped it up. I can’t wait for it to get here.
I don’t think I’m going to give it a theme though. I think I’m going to make it more of a traditional house to be displayed. I’d like to change the theme with the seasons. I’m not really sure yet though, I’ll have to see how things go. Dollhouses tend to develop their own personalities.
If I knew you from before, or even if you’re a new follower, how are you? What have you been up to?
